World Breastfeeding Week, celebrated every August 1 – 7, commemorates the Innocenti Declaration to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. Celebrations span 120 countries and overall coordination is handled by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) Secretariat in Penang, Malaysia. This is a wonderful example of families and individuals across the world, spanning cultures, languages, religions and race coming together to support a cause that promotes physical and emotional health for babies and children.
